Organisations supporting the small park BIG RUN in 2018: THANK YOU!
Heeley Trust has been working locally for 21 years to develop community, improve the local environment, stimulate the local economy and develop buildings that would otherwise have been left to decay. Without their support and effort the small park big run would not be possible. Thank you!
The lovely people at Regather have once again donated fruit for all the runners that take part this year. Veg box organiserFran Humphries has told us that Regather is committed to creating links within and across communities. Fran sees small park BIG RUN 2018 as an ideal way of doing this, both in Sheffield and across the sea to Gaza.
Once again, wholefoods shop and greengrocers workers’ cooperative Beanies is providing the runners with fresh fruit.
Many thanks to Up & Running Sheffield for their support.
As with last year they are providing 10% discount vouchers for runners’ goody bags!
Cafe Des Amis, a popular Palestinian cafe on Chesterfield Road, just round the corner from the park have said they will donate 10% of all takings over the run weekend to the causes the run is highlighting.
So, when you are hungry over the run weekend, get some scram from notre amis at Cafe des Amis
We are really lucky to have Rob and his crew come and lead an open session in the Meersbrook Park skate bowl.
Rob has been active in ensuring skateparks in Nablus have had support and has just come back from being there.
Anna Brook, from Sheffield Woodcraft Folk, told us they are really excited to be getting more involved in this year’s Small Park Big Run.:Last year lots of us were involved individually or in other capacities.Woodcraft Folk is about peace, empowering children and young people, international understanding and spanning the world with friendship so when some of our members suggested that we could get involved as a district this year there was an obvious fit with the aims of Small Park Big Run.We are planning to have Woodies running or walking throughout the full 24 hours and raising funds to support education for women and healing and play for children and families in Palestine. We have a sponsorship page the proceeds from which will be donated to the runSome of us are also helping out with marshalling, first aid, lantern making, clearing up and helping the young people in Woodcraft Folk groups to learn about what is happening in Palestine. If you are a current or former member of Woodcraft Folk and want to join our team, help with stewarding, first aid or litter picking please contact email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org to get information about scheduling and signing up.
The organisers of small park BIG RUN, Sheffield Palestine Solidarity Campaign and the Sheffield Palestine Women’s Scholarship Fund are very grateful for the support given by organisations in 2017 as well.
